The List
Large dogs are loved everywhere for their great physical endurance and strength. Many of them make great working dogs and hunting companions; however, they still make some of the best pets. Also, large dogs commonly have the best temperment of all dog sizes. Here is a list of most of the large dog breeds. All of these breeds average 20 inches or taller at the shoulder. I have also included ratings of each breed's aggression, playfulness, watch dog ability, grooming, shedding, energy, and intelligence. Remember, though, that each individual dog can be different in certain categories from the breed average. So it is okay if you have a dog that doesn't match up with the ratings on this site.

There is some good information here. As a proud owner of a 4-1/2 months old Kuvasz puppy, I was glad to see this breed making it to your list :-) My puppy is already showing signs of guardian instincts. Besides, he is already a willing hiker with our family. He loves outdoors and wants to be in the backyard rather than inside lol. Two breeds that I wished you included in your list are Leonberger, the gentle giant, and a less known but a great guard dog called Hovawart, which many people mistake for a large Golden Ret.
What a wonderful hub and it was a joy to see some of my favourite breeds - especially the Rough Collie and the Flat Coat Retriever. Having said that if I had the money and the space there's not many breeds I probably wouldn't have! One of the most beautiful dogs that I had was actually a rescue puppy. He was a cross breed, between a Flat Coat and a Red Setter. He was coal black with the long Setter ears. In the sunlight you just got a tinge of burnished red under his belly and around his bum! I say that and then I think about all my other dogs and just how beautiful they all were and not just physically!

This list is quite fantastic and a wonderful catalog for dog lovers and prospective dog breeders.
I know the German sherperd is an intelligent dog breed but I never knew the doberman was as intelligent as portrayed in this hub (I now know why rapper snoop dog portrays himself as a doberman).
